Differential and Final Drive Oil Level - Check
Fill the nal dr
ive to the bottom of the plug hole.
Allow the oil to ow along the axle housing and
settle at a common level.
12. Install plug (1).
13. Repeat steps
9 through 12 for the rear left nal
drive.
14. Remove leve
l plug (3) from the rear axle. Add oil
to the differential until the differential is full. Refer to
Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Capacities
(Rell)” an
d Operation and Maintenance Manual,
“Lubricant Viscosities”.
15. Install th
eplug.
16. Repeat the procedure for the center differential
and nal dr
ives.
Repeat the procedure for the front differential and
nal driv
es.
17. Start the engine.
18. Operate the machine for a few minutes in order
to circulate the oil.
19. Shut off the engine.
20. Check th
e oil level of the differential and nal
drives. Refer to Operation and Maintenance
Manual, “Differential and Final Drive Oil Level -
Check”

1. Park the machine on a level surface and stop the
engi
ne. Perform the following steps on each of
the three axles:

Some models may have the ller plug toward the right s ide.
2. Remove differential ller plug (1) and clean the
area around the opening.
3. Check the oil level. Maintain the oil level to the
bottom of the ller plug opening.
4. If necessary, add oil. Install the ller plug.

Note: The differential and nal drives share a
com
mon oil compartment. When the machine is
parked on a level surface and when the nal drive oil
level mark (3) is horizontal, the nal drive ller plug
(2)
will be at the same level as the differential ller
plug (1). Allow the oil to ll all of the compartments
before rechecking the oil level.
